Sources: Rangers have ignored big Danny Rohl fear after agreement

Rangers are set to appoint Danny Rohl as their new manager despite fears over a negative fan reaction, sources have told Football Insider.

Rohl pulled out of the race last week, but following another few days of chaos at Ibrox, he looks set to complete a dramatic U-turn after agreeing terms.

Rangers were close to agreeing a deal with Kevin Muscat over the weekend, but yet again failed to get the appointment over the line.

It comes after both Steven Gerrard and Sean Dyche rejected the chance to join the Glasgow giants earlier in the process.

Danny Rohl has many admirers at Rangers

Rangers have received a lot of backlash regarding Rohl, as many feel that he is not the right man to take the club forward.

However, sources say that the German boss has a lot of admirers within the hierarchy at the Gers, and ultimately they are the ones making the decisions.

While the supporters may be disappointed with the appointment, Rohl has the backing of the Rangers board and they believe he can turn the situation around.

The 36-year-old has been out of work since he left his job at Sheffield Wednesday during the summer.

Rangers finally at the end of drawn-out manager search

It has been an incredibly chaotic time for the Glasgow giants since they made the decision to dismiss Russell Martin.

Martin was sacked by the club following a 1-1 draw away to Falkirk before the international break, ending his abysmal spell in charge.

Gerrard, Rohl and Muscat have all been close to being appointed over the past two weeks, with each deal eventually falling through.

The club have now turned back to Rohl, and it seems as if they will at last end a controversial and damaging managerial saga.
