Bournemouth fans in ‘disbelief’ after what Kepa did vs Tottenham

Bournemouth’s hopes of securing European football were handed a hammer blow on Sunday (9 March) when they were held to a 2-2 draw against Tottenham.

It was a day of disappointment for the Cherries as they let a two-goal lead slip to end up drawing against Spurs as they failed to put any real pressure on the teams above them.

Goals from Marcus Tavernier and Evanilson had put the Cherries in a comfortable position after 65 minutes, but Ange Postecoglou’s side refused to give up.

Papa Matar Sarr scored from distance in the 67th minute to give his team some belief, while that was followed up with an 84th-minute penalty from Son Heung-min.

The result left Bournemouth in eighth place after they have sunk down the Premier League table this weekend as other results have gone against them, putting their hopes of European football in jeopardy.

Kepa made a costly mistake against Tottenham

Kepa found himself in the heart of the drama at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as he was the man who conceded the penalty after he charged out to try and get on the end of a through ball.

Unfortunately for the on-loan Chelsea goalkeeper, Son got to the ball first and ended up being wiped out by Kepa afterward.

The Spurs forward then converted his opportunity in another moment that left Bournemouth fans annoyed, as Son’s effort was rather tame.

Bournemouth fans are furious

The Cherries fanbase were fuming at the end of the game as they felt that their team had dropped three points, and Kepa was the reason why.

Some Bournemouth fans even felt he was to blame for Tottenham’s first goal, where he was caught out from distance with what appeared to be an attempted cross that ended up in the back of his net.

Fans claimed to be in “disbelief” at what he was doing, while others claimed it was a “terrible advert for goalkeeping.”
