Man United fans: Casemiro ‘will never play again’ after what he did v Tottenham
Man United fans are insisting Casemiro should never play for the club again after his performance during their Premier League clash with Tottenham.
Ruben Amorim’s side fell to a frustrating 1-0 defeat away from home after James Maddison’s first-half finish gave the hosts the lead at half-time.
The second half saw some improvement from the Red Devils, but it was not enough to breach a solid Spurs defence, who secured their first home win in the league since November.
However, it was Casemiro who became the focus of much of the travelling fans’ attention given his solitary holding role in the middle of the park.
Amorim opted to use the 32-year-old in a two-man pairing with Bruno Fernandes, who had been given freedom to drift and often leave his partner to cover by himself.
This exposed the Brazilian’s age and tired legs, with United struggling to gain any control of the game in the midfield as Maddison was allowed to dominate for large spells.
As a result, large sections of the supporters are calling for Amorim to make a change to bolster his midfield, while insisting Casemiro should not be so heavily involved.
Ruben Amorim told to ace ‘abysmal’ Casemiro after what he did
Casemiro has been heavily involved for United this season, despite a sense towards the end of last term that he was beginning to slow down.
However, a lack of midfield reinforcements and a lack of available options against Tottenham, mean he has now played 25 games across all competitions this season.
Football Insider revealed that Casemiro is still expected to quit Man United to move to Saudi Arabia, with an end-of-season exit on the cards.
However, as things stand, he remains a significant part of Amorim’s squad and looks set to continue in his role despite widespread criticism from fans and pundits.

Man United fans rage at Casemiro after what they saw
Gary Neville was also highly critical of his performance against Tottenham, while he questioned Amorim’s decision to start Casemiro and Fernandes as a pair.
Taking to social media both during and following the game, Man United fans insisted the midfielder should now be dropped as they labelled him “abysmal” and “disgraceful”.
