Hudson-Odoi sends Nottingham Forest message as full stats emerge
Nottingham Forest suffered a crucial Premier League defeat in their fight for Champions League football on Sunday (23 February) against Newcastle United.
It was a battle between two Premier League rivals fighting for European football at St James’s Park, and the Magpies came out on top of the seven-goal thriller.
Callum Hudson-Odoi did give Forest the lead in the sixth minute, but Eddie Howe’s men responded in emphatic style by scoring four goals in 11 minutes to blow the away.
Goals from Nikola Milenkovic and Ryan Yates allowed Forest to pile on the pressure in the second half, but ultimately it was too little too late for Nuno Espirito Santo’s men.
The defeat continues Forest’s difficult run of form as they have now lost three of their last four Premier League games, which is as many as in their previous 16.
Forest remain third in the Premier League table, but their recent troubles have allowed the chasing pack to catch them up.

Callum Hudson-Odoi reflects on a tough afternoon against Newcastle
This game marked the first time that Hudson-Odoi has played a full 90 minutes since his recent groin injury, making it an important personal step in his recovery.
The former Chelsea academy graduate managed to score his fourth goal of the season as well, which he reflected on via an Instagram message.
The 24-year-old said, “Tough battle today! We go again on Wednesday, thank you for your support as always.”

Nottingham Forest have a danger man outside the box
Hudson-Odoi’s goal came from outside the box against Newcastle, and even though fans were critical of Nick Pope, it created an impressive personal achievement for the Forest winger.
Nobody has scored more goals from outside the box than Hudson-Odoi, who has now found the back of the net seven times from that position, including all four of his goals this season.
