Sources: Derby County set Patrick Agyemang asking price amid Leeds interest
Derby County are set to demand a bumper price for Patrick Agyemang as he remains an important part of their plans despite interest from Leeds United.
The 25-year-old has been outstanding in the Championship this season with ten goals and four assists in 33 appearances since arriving from FC Charlotte.
His goals and performances have played a key role in Derby climbing to eighth in the league table, with just three points separating them from the playoff places.
As I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Transfer Insider podcast, they are extremely reluctant to let him go and will demand a significant fee from Leeds.
Daniel Farke, meanwhile, is keen to assess his attacking options ahead of what could be a busy transfer window for Leeds if they stay in the Premier League.

Football Insider revealed last month that Derby are bracing for offers for Agyemang amid interest from Leeds and a couple of their Premier League rivals.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Lukas Nmecha are the current striker options for Farke, but there are concerns about the depth behind their starting duo.
Leeds have set their sights on Agyemang as a result, but his price tag will continue to soar as long as Derby keep up their impressive bid for a playoff place.
Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast, I explained: “Yeah, he’s obviously been a long-term target for Leeds.
“Look, if they stay in the Premier League, there’s no doubt they will have the money to strengthen the squad.
“Agyemang has had a very good debut season in England for Derby. Derby spent a decent fee on him when they did sign him in the summer, it was around six million pounds.

“So I’m sure his price tag has gone up since that. Derby have no real plans to lose him.
“But if Derby are unsuccessful in their bid to try and win promotion, I’m sure there will be a number of clubs looking at Agyemang as a potential target in the summer transfer window.”
Which clubs are rivalling Leeds in the race for Agyemang?
As mentioned previously, Leeds are not the only club keeping tabs on Agyemang as his impressive displays for Derby have attracted high-profile interest.
The USA international joined the Championship outfit for a fee of around £6million and is proving to be worth the money through his impact on the side.
However, Football Insider revealed in January that Crystal Palace made an approach for Agyemang and were keen on bringing him to Selhurst Park.

Palace are also assessing their striker options amid doubts about Jean-Philippe Mateta’s long-term future after he almost joined AC Milan in the mid-season window.
Mateta returned to Oliver Glasner’s squad in their Conference League clash with AEK Larnaca, but is unlikely to remain beyond the summer.
