Klich must start: Three ways Leeds can line up in midfield v Bolton

COMMENT By Will Butcher

Thomas Christiansen must find a way to include all of his midfield stars against Bolton in six days’ time after Leeds signed Mateusz Klich from FC Twente.

The Whites now have a quintet of midfielders that will all be pushing for first-team football this season, and it is Christiansen’s job to find a formation that will make them all happy.

Former APOEL Nicosia manager Christiansen used a 4-2-3-1 system against Oxford United on Saturday in the Whites’ last pre-season fixture of the summer.

Ireland international Eunan O’Kane started alongside academy product Kalvin Phillips before Klich and Liam Bridcutt were sent on as two of seven substitutes during the 2-0 victory.

But it will be difficult for Christiansen to leave players such as 10-time Poland international Klich, captain Bridcutt and England youth international Ronaldo Vieira on the bench.
