'100% he Starts' - Exclusive: Pundit drops big Liverpool team news view pre-Man City
Kevin Phillips is adamant Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp will select Diogo Jota to spearhead the attack against Manchester City on Sunday.
The former England international, speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Dylan Childs, expects Roberto Firmino to drop to the bench in what will be a “big test” for the 29-year-old Brazilian.
Jota starred when leading the line for the Reds against Atalanta on Tuesday, scoring a hat-trick to make it six goals in his last four games.
The £41million summer signing’s form has led to calls for him to start over Firmino this weekend against title rivals Manchester City.
Kevin Phillips is in no doubt over who Jurgen Klopp will select for Sunday’s clash.
“100 per cent Jota starts,” he told Football Insider.

“As much as I love Firmino, and he is a class player, you always need to be pressured and kept on your toes.
“I thought Diogo Jota was one of Wolves’ best players last season, he is a fantastic footballer. That move to Liverpool surprised a lot of people, it came out of the blue but it has not taken him long to get going.
“No surprise that he is doing really well because he was an outstanding player at Wolves but when you put him into a side that is arguably better man for man he will shine every brighter.
“It is a big test for Firmino now. Does he sink? Does he swim?
“I get the impression that he will fight for his place but what an option for Klopp – Jota or Firmino – blimey.
“But 100 per cent Jota starts. 100 per cent.”
