‘£100m traffic cone’ – Chelsea fans furious with Moises Caicedo after what he did vs Bournemouth

Chelsea supporters were apoplectic after watching an early incident involving superstar Moises Caicedo against Bournemouth on Tuesday.

Caicedo has been miles above across Europe this season, not just in the defensive third, but also with his contributions in attack, but the fans were far from pleased with the £115million player on 30 December.

Enzo Maresca’s side had thrown away three points against Aston Villa before welcoming the Cherries to Stamford Bridge, with the manager very much under pressure for some of his decisions.

Cole Palmer was substituted early, which certainly riled up the fans, and that frustration was evident when Caicedo picked up an early booking for bringing Adrien Truffert after four minutes.

The caution, of course, means that the 24-year-old midfielder will be suspended for the Blues’ clash with Man City on 4 January, having only just returned from a ban.

With an Arsenal fan labelling him a “£100m traffic cone,” that was just the start of abuse from the player’s own fans, earning him the nickname of “shin-kicker” due to his number of yellow cards.

It is safe to say that the home fans are furious with the player, who is now unavailable for one of their biggest games of the season. At least there were plenty of goals to keep them entertained.

Pep Guardiola to be licking his lips ahead of Chelsea

Man City versus Chelsea has been a spectacle over the last few seasons, not least because of Palmer’s move to West London, but it has taken yet another twist very early on.

With Nico Gonzalez and Rodri both back in the squad, the Citizens will be able to control the middle of the park, allowing for the likes of Phil Foden and Rayan Cherki to create some magic.

Pep Guardiola‘s side are eyeing up the Premier League title once again, with the Gunners currently leading the race, but they will feel that three points are already in the bag after Caicedo’s ban.

It is certainly one of those moments that could define the season, with the Blues slowly slipping down the league table, and the frustrations are only growing at Stamford Bridge.
