£10m forward from rivals and fan fave returns: Leeds possible starting XI on first day of 18/19

COMMENT

Leeds United were not afraid to make changes last summer with Victor Orta and Thomas Christiansen completely rebuilding the squad that had been left by Garry Monk.

However as the season has progressed, major flaws have been exposed in the way that the Whites go about their transfers and with a huge number of Orta’s signings ending up being flops, it’s likely that more changes will be made again this summer.

Paul Heckingbottom has recently insisted that there will not be an overhaul but it is ultimately what Leeds need if they are going to launch a serious bid for promotion to the Premier League.

The Yorkshire giants have spent too long in the Championship and hopefully Andrea Radrizzani will free up some funds for Orta and Heckingbottom to seriously improve a squad of underperformers and nobodies.

In order to do that, a lot of deadwood will have to be sold off.

Mateusz Klich, Pawel Cibicki, Hadi Sacko, Felix Wiedwald and Andy Lonergan should all be binned off as United look to start afresh in the 2018/19 campaign, leading to a total of six new potential signings being made by the club including one familiar face and a big-money forward.

Here, Football Insider names the possible starting line-up that could feature on the first-day of the 2018/19 season.
