Koeman reacts on Twitter to award after stunning Everton performance v Man City
By Danny Wright
Ronald Koeman has tweeted his thanks after being handed the League Managers Association’s LG Performance of the Week award.
A five man panel consisting of Howard Wilkinson, Sir Alex Ferguson, Dave Bassett, Joe Royle and Barry Fry decided that this week’s award would go to Koeman after his side thrashed title-chasing Manchester City 4-0 on Sunday 15 January.
Koeman saw his Everton side keep possession for just 29% of the game and score with all four of their shots on target.
Speaking on his personal Twitter account on Friday afternoon, the Dutch manager shared his awards, while also asking for his side to keep their form going.

Goals from Belgian duo Romelu Lukaku and Kevin Mirallas put Koeman’s side 2-0 up before teenagers Tom Davies and Ademola Lookman rounded off the victory in the final phases of the game.

Man of the match Davies was involved in three of Everton’s goals, and debutant Lookman also became the 16th and 17th teenagers to score Premier League goals for Everton, equalling Arsenal’s record in the competition.
Koeman will now be looking to gain more momentum when his side takes on Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Saturday, a team that Everton are unbeaten against in their last four games.
The Toffees are also unbeaten in the Premier League since Christmas, with impressive wins against champions Leicester City and Southampton to add to last Sunday’s result.
In other Everton news, Mark Lawrenson has predicted the Toffees clash with Palace.
