Josh Windass sends message to Rangers team-mates after winning POTM
Rangers attacker Josh Windass has thanked his Ibrox team-mates for setting him up every week after being named Scottish Premiership player of the month for February.
The 24-year-old picked up the gong after scoring five times in five games in the league last month as he made a blistering return to action following the winter break.
Windass’ form has seen him draw level with Alfredo Morelos as the club’s top goalscorer on 17 goals to his name this season.
The former Accrington star also revealed he was looking forward to Saturday’s Scottish Premiership clash with Kilmarnock as he looks to continue his recent run of impressive performances.
“Looking forward to (Saturday). Thanks to my team mates for setting me up every week,” Windass said on his personal Twitter account.

The 24-year-old recently signed an extension to his Ibrox contract to commit his future to the Light Blues until the summer of 2021 – joining the likes of Daniel Candeias, Ross McCrorie, Alfredo Morelos and James Tavernier in signing new deals in the last few months.

After joining the Gers from Accrington in 2016, Windass has made 62 appearances for the Light Blues, scoring 18 times and contributing 13 assists.
Football Insider verdict:
Windass’ player of the month award is well deserved after a fantastic run of form in February. The 24-year-old has really emerged as one of the most important players at Ibrox but needs to find a level of consistency over more than a few weeks. The clash with Kilmarnock on Saturday will give the Gers a chance to get last weekend’s Old Firm defeat at the hands of Celtic out of their system and get back to winning ways. With Windass and Morelos tied on 17 goals each both will be desperate to get on the scoresheet and put themself out in front as the club’s top goalscorer.
In other Rangers news, Allen’s Ibrox masterclass would continue if he signed this midfielder who humiliated Scott Brown.
