'Top trolling' - Celtic fans react Rodgers decision to start fringe player v Aberdeen

Celtic supporters have taken to social media to react to the team’s starting line-up for the match against Aberdeen and have offered a mixed reaction to Brendan Rodgers’ decision to start Jonny Hayes.

The Hoops go into the game five points clear of their nearest rivals in the title race, with the chance to go eight clear with a win.

The team was announced on the Hoops’ official Twitter account ahead of kick-off on Saturday.

Most of the reaction centered on the rare start given to fringe player Hayes against his former team, with one supported declaring it “absolute patter”.

Here are some of the best reactions on Twitter to the news that Hayes starts:

Hayes’ last start for the Hoops came in the 5-1 victory over Motherwell earlier this month.

The Ireland international has struggled to get into the Bhoys’ starting line-up since his move to Glasgow in the summer, but this is a big vote of confidence in his abilities from manager Brendan Rodgers.

The other notable team news sees Kristoffer Ajer keep his place in the side following his good performance in the midweek win over Partick and Moussa Demeble makes his long-awaited return to the starting line-up, replacing Odsonne Edouard.

Olivier Ntcham also returns to the side, replacing Callum McGregor as the Hoops go for more steel in the midfield area.
