'Not part of our future', 'No leadership' - Everton fans rage after latest Allardyce comments
Everton manager Sam Allardyce has said that the club’s recent signings are not value for money in the aftermath of the side’s 1-0 defeat away at Watford in the Premier League.
The Toffees were disappointing at Vicarage Road and managed to register only two shots on target throughout a match where a Troy Deeney goal was enough to see off the Blues.
When the Everton boss was asked whether he should expect more from his players he said in the Liverpool Echo: “Yes I would say the players need to be dealing with it more for the money we’ve paid for them.”
But Big Sam’s comments regarding his players has left supporters of the club furious with the manager who feel that their new arrivals are not being given an opportunity to succeed.
One fan said “You need to play more than half a football game to find that out,” while another Blue said sarcastically, “This manager is a genius.”
Cenk Tosun was brought into Goodison Park during the January transfer window for £27million and found himself relegated to the substitutes bench after just a couple of outings.
Allardyce has said that the Turkish international was struggling to adapt to the physicality of the English top-flight.
It would appear that the pressure is beginning to tell on the former England manager who also went on to point the finger at his own players rather than elsewhere for their inability to pass to one another.
He said: “They get the ball and pass it, not me.”
Here is what the Toffees supporters had to say on Twitter about their manager’s comments:
What the ones he won’t play

Seriously Sam is not part of our future and needs to go before the end of the season, Farhad has to expect more than excuses

Called for him to go, but now question if we pulled the trigger too soon on Koeman. Are we any better off than we would have been? Probably was the right decision but Allardyce has offered nothing. No leadership, identity, stands for everything Everton isn’t!
