Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette is nearing a return to first-team action after the manager confirmed he was back in training.

Arsene Wenger admitted that while the former Lyon man had returned to the fold, the Europa League clash against AC Milan on Thursday was too soon for the 26-year-old.

The French international hasn’t featured for the Gunners since the 1-0 defeat to Tottenham a little over a month ago when he picked up a knee injury that was said would keep him out of action for up to six weeks.

And the forward now faces a race to be fit in time for their next outing in the Premier League against Stoke City at the Emirates in April.

Aside from the weekend’s 3-0 win against Watford, domestically the Gunners have struggled going forward and will be grateful to welcome Lacazette back into the side.

The club’s record transfer signing before Pierre Emerick Aubameyang’s arrival in North London this January, has struggled to hold down a first team place under Wenger and has had limited game time.

After hearing news of Lacazette’s return to training the Arsenal faithful took to Twitter to have their say on his comeback and here is a selection of responses from supporters:
