Forward axed in Rodgers 4-3-3: Celtic best possible XI v Partick

GOALKEEPER AND DEFENDERS

Craig Gordon (Goalkeeper) – Didn’t have much to do against Brechin at the weekend but will still be between the sticks as he is undeniably the number one goalkeeper at the club
Mikael Lustig (Rght-back) – Looked far better against Brechin than he did in the weeks before the winter break when he looked fatigued, will be a bonus if he is back on form
Kristoffer Ajer (Centre-back) – Struggled at times to cope with Brechin’s physical style but with Simunovic out of form and Compper injured he should keep his place in the side
Dedryck Boyata (Centre-back) – Scored his first goal of the season against Brechin which hopefully gives him the confidence to perform better in the second-half of the season
Kieran Tierney (Left-back) – Seems refreshed after a much-needed winter break, really needs some competition in the side but until then he must play every game
