Rangers close in on second January signing with player jetting into Glasgow - report
By Harvey Byrne
Jon Toral will fly into Glasgow from Malaga on Tuesday and complete a six-month move to Rangers, according to a report.
The Daily Record has claimed that the 21-year-old will be in the Scottish capital on Tuesday evening after terminating his loan with La Liga side Granada on the same day.
The player is currently contracted to English giants Arsenal and it is stated that Mark Warburton and Arsene Wenger have come to an agreement about Toral’s next move.
The Scottish giants have been heavily linked with the young talent and Warburton had previously worked with him at Brentford.
It is stated by the Record that Toral remains Rangers’ priority target despite signing Emerson Hyndman on Monday in a similar short-term loan deal from Bournemouth.

Toral had made just six appearances in Spain in all competitions this season and he is also waiting to make his debut for the senior Arsenal team.
However, he has earned plenty of experience with Birmingham and Brentford, playing 75 times in total for the pair.
He returned with 14 goals and six assists in those appearances and Gers fans will be hopeful of a similar return as they look to claim second place this season.
Football Insider verdict:
Toral has previously starred under Warburton before and it is thought that he will be able to do so again in the Scottish Premiership. The midfielder showed everyone in the Championship that he is ready to play first team football and he could prove a very solid addition to Rangers in the second half of the campaign. It has been no secret that Warburton has had a keen eye on his former player this window and it is now up to Toral to prove to everyone that he has what it takes to go on and eventually play for Arsenal.
In other Rangers transfer news, the Gers are lining up this 29-year-old to replace outgoing man.
