Celtic must terminate attacker deal after yet another injury blow
Celtic are going through one of the worst injury crises they have had in a long time.
As well as the recent injuries to Marvin Compper and Stuart Armstrong, Brendan Rodgers revealed on Wednesday that Tom Rogic will be out until March and Leigh Griffiths has an ankle problem.
The Hoops’ squad is getting dangerously thin, and whilst also looking to players in January one solution that could help the problem is if the Bhoys are able to bring Ryan Christie back from his loan deal with Aberdeen.
The 22-year-old returned to Aberdeen – where he had spent the second-half of last season on loan – on a temporary deal for the rest of the season as part of the transfer which took Jonny Hayes to Celtic in the summer.
Christie has thrived with the Dons, scoring five goals and recording eight assists in 25 games.
He would be the ideal replacement for Rogic, as he has the same guile and craft that the Australian has, and he has a similar goal record too.
Celtic must now do what they can to terminate the attacker’s temporary deal at Pittodrie in order to strengthen their squad.
However the main sticking point with attempting to bring Christie back is that the deal may not have included a release clause in the middle of the season, and the player may be at Pittodrie until the end of the campaign.
But until this is confirmed, the Bhoys should attempt to bring Christie back, we would be a welcome addition to the squad.
