Liverpool and Cameroon centre back Joel Matip has taken a swipe at West Brom over their tactics.
Liverpool and Matip face West Brom on Sunday afternoon at the Hawthorns as the Reds look to make it seven matches unbeaten in the Premier League.
Speaking in the Liverpool Echo, ahead of Sunday’s clash, Matip said: “High balls, free kicks, corners [is their main threat].
“They know how to act, but it will be a tough, hard fight. We are not afraid of them and are looking forward to it. I will not hide against these players. I will take the fight [to them] if I play.”
Matip signed for Liverpool on a free transfer from Schalke 04 last summer and has had a stop-start season due to injuries.
The 27-time Cameroon international has made 26 appearances in all competitions for the Reds and has scored one Premier League goal.
However when he has played he has been Klopp’s best performing centre back and he and Dejan Lovren have struck up a solid partnership.
The 25-year-old played 90 minutes last time out as Liverpool beat Stoke City 2-1 at the bet365 Stadium.
Jon Walters took the lead in the first half for Stoke before Philippe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino both netted to hand the Reds all three points.
The result meant Jurgen Klopp’s side remained in third and in the Champions League places.
They currently sit two points ahead of Manchester City, who occupy fourth, although Pep Guardiola’s side have a game in hand.
In other Liverpool news, Klopp has reacted angrily to comments made about Liverpool’s tactics.
