Steve Bruce has plenty of options available to him in the middle of the park at Aston Villa after completing a deal to sign Premier League veteran Glenn Whelan from Stoke City.
Villa revealed on their official website that the 33-year-old that they had secured the Ireland international on a two-year deal with the Midlands outfit.
Now, Bruce has a decision to make in the middle of the park, with plenty of options and systems available to him following the signing of Whelan.
Despite selling Carlos Sanchez and reportedly nearing the sale of Jordan Veretout to Fiorentina, according to the Daily Mail, Villa still have an abundance of central midfielders available to them.
The likes of Mile Jedinak, Henri Lansbury, Conor Hourihane, Gary Gardner and Whelan will be all vying for a place in Bruce’s midfield.
