Everton should make three changes for their Premier League clash against Southampton at St Mary’s Stadium on Sunday afternnon.
Following the 1-1 draw against bottom of the league Swansea in their last league fixture, Ronald Koeman must shake the attack around.
The Dutchman played Yannick Bolasie on the left wing for the first time this campaign, but the tactical switch failed to work and he must revert back to the right.
This will then allow 29-year-old Kevin Mirallas to come back into the side and start on the left.
The experienced manager must also bring Gareth Barry and Ramiro Funes Mori back into his starting eleven, which will see Phil Jagielka and James McCarthy omitted.
Everton will be likely to focus their attacks down the wings with the Southampton defence containing star centre-back duo Jose Fonte and Virgil van Dijk.
This means that attacking full-backs Leighton Baines and Seamus Coleman have to support Bolasie and Mirallas down each flank.
Barry, who’s formed a good partnership with summer signing Idrissa Gueye will help cover the full-back duo alongside the Senegal international.
Additionally, Funes Mori will also help the side in defence with age catching up on 34-year-old Phil Jagielka, who has struggled recently.
Maarten Stekelenburg will also be looking to keep his fourth clean sheet of the campaign, after featuring in 13 fixtures this season.
Attackers Ross Barkley and Romelu Lukaku will be looking to cause problems at the opposite end of the pitch and the Belgian 23-year-old scored two goals in the same fixture last season.
Depending on results, a win for the Toffees could see them leapfrog Manchester United in sixth place, who are currently level on 19 points.
However, a loss could see them drop to ninth with Watford and West Brom moving above them.
