Vertonghen issues warning to Chelsea ahead of FA Cup semi-final

Tottenham and Belgium defender Jan Vertonghen has issued a warning to Chelsea ahead of his side’s crucial FA Cup semi-final next weekend, saying Spurs have nothing to be afraid of.
Spurs cut the gap between themselves and league leaders Chelsea to four points this week as they beat Bournemouth 4-0 while the Blues lost 2-0 at Man United.
Mousa Dembele, Son Heung-min, Harry Kane and Vincent Janssen all bagged for Tottenham as they increased pressure on the table-toppers.
It was pressure that Antonio Conte’s men crumbled under – as they slumped to a disappointing defeat as Marcus Rashford and Ander Herrra netted either side of the break.
The sides will not meet again in the Premier League this season – but their match up in the FA Cup semi-final could still be crucial in the end of season run in.

Whoever wins at Wembley and advances into the final will hold a psychological edge going into the final six Premier League games.
Vertonghen was present in both previous ties between the sides this season as Tottenham lost the first match 2-1 at Stamford Bridge, but beat Chelsea 2-0 at White Hart Lane in January.
Speaking in The Mirror, the 91-time Belgium international, said: “Chelsea is one of the best teams in the league this season and they played great and Eden [Hazard] is obviously a very special player.
“But we have played against him this season and we have played Chelsea and we won. Obviously we lost in the away game.
“Our first half there was maybe the best of the season. We have nothing to be afraid of. Not here at the Lane. Not at Saturday at Wembley.”
The 29-year-old centre back has been a feature in the Spurs back line this term and has made 35 appearances in all competitions.
