Piers Morgan destroys Arsenal mega-money star on Twitter
By Matt Bullin
Arsenal fan Piers Morgan has slammed Granit Xhaka on Twitter, calling him a ‘£35million crab’, despite the Swiss midfielder’s improved performances in recent games.
The 24-year-old has seen an upturn in his form recently, and has completed 90 minutes in the Gunners last seven Premier League matches.
The Swiss midfielder played a full part in Arsenal’s scratchy 1-0 win over Leicester.
An own-goal from Robert Huth four minutes from time was enough to provide Arsenal with all three points.
Morgan’s Tweet came in response to a Tweet displaying Xhaka’s impressive passing statistics, which showed he has a pass completion rate of near 90 per cent in all four of the Gunners’ last four league games.

However Morgan was quick to discredit the statistics, Tweeting from his personal account: “They’re all short easy passes, usually sideways. He’s a £35m crab.”

Xhaka has been subject to much criticism this term since his mega-money move from Borussia Monchengladbach last summer, and Tony Cascarino even dubbed him the worst signing of the Premier League.
The 24-year-old has made 39 league and cup appearances this term, although he has contributed to just six goals (scored three, assisted three).
Next up for Xhaka and his side is a crucial North London derby on Sunday, as they travel to White Hart Lane.
Arsenal currently sit sixth in the Premier League, and with a win v Spurs, they could move above Man United into fifth.
In other Arsenal news, this key defender is in a race against time to be fit for the North London derby.
