4-3-3: This Tottenham team of 10 changes will rip Barnsley to shreds
COMMENT by Russell Edge
Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino should rely on a change of tactics and players when his side take on Barnsley in their League Cup clash on Tuesday.
Spurs failed to break down a resolute Swansea side on Saturday, leaving the club without a league win at their temporary home of Wembley this season.
As such, he should show faith in the squad players to show the first team stars how it is done, as well as implementing a change of formation to maximise their attacking threat against a Championship side struggling in the second tier.
Only centre-back Davinson Sanchez should remain in the starting line up, while Pochettino should call upon Michel Vorm, Ben Davies, Juan Foyth, Serge Aurier, Harry Winks, Mousa Dembele, Tashan Oakley-Boothe, Georges-Kevin N’Koudou, Fernando Llorente and Keanen Bennetts.
They would replace Hugo Lloris, Toby Alderweireld, Jan Vertonghen, Son Heung-min, Kieran Trippier, Eric Dier, Moussa Sissoko, Dele Alli, Christian Eriksen and Harry Kane, as the first team stars rest up after a busy series of fixtures.

While there are several youngsters in the proposed starting XI, with Okaley-Boothe, Foyth and Bennetts all yet to make their debuts, there would also be a lot of experience, with the likes of Vorm, Davies, Dembele and Llorente all having significant game time in the top flight.
Pochettino should also revert from using three at the back to a more traditional back four, offering the forward players more freedom to push forward without the responsibility of defensive action.
A 4-3-3 formation, coupled with the mix of desire and experience running through the side, should ensure that Spurs are at their most dangerous and should tear through Barnsley on Tuesday.
A positive result would give the side a much needed boost after Saturday’s dour draw, ahead of an important clash with West Ham on Saturday.
