'About time', 'Gone' - Tottenham fans react to speculation Walker wants to quit

By Amir Mir

Kyle Walker wants to leave Tottenham after a dispute with manager Mauricio Pochettino – and fans on Twitter have provided mixed views.

The Independent claim that the 26-year-old believes his future lies away from the club after a fall-out with Pochettino over his fitness, selection and performances in training.

Kieran Trippier was selected to start at right-back during Spurs’ 2-0 win over Arsenal on Sunday afternoon at White Hart Lane.

Walker came off the bench late in the second half, the first time Pochettino has not selected him in the starting XI for a north London fixture.

When the news about Walker broke, fans on social media provided mixed views, with some hoping he does not leave, while others are willing Tottenham sell him for the right price.

One supporter stated that Walker, who signed a new five-and-a-half-year contract last September, is playing the best football of his career, therefore, he shouldn’t leave.

Another fan believes that £50million would be great business for the England international, especially considering Trippier’s recent run of form.

Overall, the White Hart Lane were undecided on how to react to the news of Walker potentially leaving in the summer.

Over the course of the season, Walker has played 37 games in all competitions, starting 34 of those encounters.

Added to that, he has played 31 Premier League matches for his title-chasing team, supplying six assists.

He was benched for the FA Cup semi-final defeat at the hands of Chelsea on April 22 but started the league win over Crystal Palace four days later.

But, Walker once again found himself playing second fiddle to Trippier during the win against Arsenal on Sunday.
