6ft 2in ace has played last Spurs game: Three things we learned about Tottenham from Tues draw

Aurier is accident waiting to happen

The Kyle Walker replacement possesses all the speed and mobility of his right-back predecessor, but none of the Manchester City man’s defensive nous and solidity. Yet again Aurier was found wanting as he conceded the penalty by catching Jose Izquierdo on the edge of the box. The Ivorian’s propensity for accumulating cards and giving away needless fouls in danger areas – usually when he has been caught out of position – makes him an accident waiting to happen. Few fans believe he has been a smart signing by the club, although Mauricio Pochettino does have an excellent track record of improving full-backs.
