Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino is expected to make two changes to his side ahead of the clash against Premier League leaders Manchester City at Wembley on Sunday.
Victor Wanyama is expected to be axed and replaced by Eric Dier after the England international was dropped for the 2-1 win against Stoke last week while Danny Rose is likely to make way for Ben Davies due to an injury.
Pochettino has regularly rotated his full-backs this season but his hand may be forced this weekend with doubts over Kieran Trippier’s fitness meaning that Serge Aurier may start for a second league game in a row.
Hugo Lloris is expected to start in goal behind a back four of Aurier, Davinson Sanchez, Jan Vertonghen and Davies.
Toby Alderweireld is not likely to return to the starting line-up any time soon as doubts about his future continue to plague the closing stages of Tottenham’s season.
Dier is likely to return to the deeper-lying midfield area alongside Mousa Dembele with Wanyama, who according to the Daily Star earns £70,000-a-week, axed to the bench.
The attacking force is expected to remain unchanged with Christian Eriksen, Dele Alli and Heung-min Son supporting Harry Kane.
Spurs can move up to third with a win against Man City on Sunday.
Pochettino’s side is currently fourth and level on points with Liverpool, who sit just above them having played a game more and with a better goal difference.
In other Tottenham news, negotiations have begun over this powerhouse forward wanted by Spurs.
