£7m bid submitted as Tottenham hunt last-gasp defender signing, club responds
Tottenham have been on the hunt for Andy Robertson this winter window as they look to reinforce their backline.
With Thomas Frank under huge pressure at Spurs, reinforcements are no doubt needed if he wants to keep his job safe.
Tottenham’s 2-2 draw against Burnley on the weekend once again exposed their poor defending as they dropped another two points.
However, Spurs hopes of getting Robertson could depend on Wolves, who are looking to keep hold of David Moller Wolfe.
Wolves reject £7m Roma bid for David Moller Wolfe
Wolfe has had plenty of interest away from Wolves this season, despite their precarious position in the table.
Now, according to Sky Sports’ Lyall Thomas on 26 January via X, Rob Edwards’ side have rejected a £7million bid from Roma for Wolfe.
The Italian side are on the hunt for a left-back, with Liverpool eager to recall Konstantinos Tsimikas from his loan spell at the capital club.

Therefore, this could allow the Reds to sell Robertson to Spurs as they would have additional depth at left-back going into the second half of the 2025-26 campaign.
However, this may depend on Roma bringing in a left-back first.
Now, after Wolves rejected the bid for Wolfe, Roma are set to look elsewhere.
Can Andy Robertson be a success at Tottenham?
While Robertson was no doubt one of the best defenders in the Premier League a few years ago, age has now caught up with the full-back.
Later this season, the Scotland international is set to turn 33 years old and has barely started for Liverpool this campaign.
However, when he has been on the pitch, he has still shown off plenty of positive qualities.
According to Fotmob on 26 January, Robertson is averaging a 28.6 per cent successful crossing rate, 2.99 touches in the opposition box, 57.5 per cent duels won and 1.66 tackles per game.
| Andy Roberton’s Premier League stats this season | Per 90 minutes |
| xA | 0.13 |
| Crossing success rate | 28.6% |
| Touches in opposition box | 2.99 |
| Duels won | 57.5% |
| Tackles | 1.66 |
| Aerial duels won | 1.66 |
Therefore, it is clear that the full-back can still make an impact both defensively and offensively on the pitch in the Premier League.
Hopefully, if Tottenham do go through with the signing, Robertson is able to keep up these performances at the North London club as they look to get their campaign back on track.
