‘A flop no one is talking about’ – Premier League fans blast Arsenal ‘fraud’ after what he did vs Liverpool

Premier League fans have rushed to social media to voice their opinions about Arsenal’s “flop” during the goalless draw against Liverpool.

Mikel Arteta‘s side were held to a goalless draw at the Emirates on Thursday, 8 January, but it was referee Anthony Taylor who stole the spotlight during the huge Premier League title clash.

While the Reds remain 14 points off the top of the table, it was a major moment for Man City and Aston Villa, but the main talking point was when Gabriel Martinelli clashed with an injured Conor Bradley.

Liverpool could have been awarded a penalty for a challenge on Jeremie Frimpong, but all calls for a spot-kick were waved away by the referee, before then being checked by VAR.

In the closing stages, the Gunners were clearly pushing for all three points, with Arteta bringing on Eberechi Eze and Noni Madueke for the final 15 minutes.

However, the former Crystal Palace man managed just three touches during his time on the pitch [FotMob], and Premier League fans have made their feelings clear about the 27-year-old.

After four straight matches stuck on the bench for Arsenal, rivals’ fans have dubbed him a “fraud” and a “flop” after the Gunners splashed £67.5million on the forward.

In what is believed to be a “waste of £70million,” many fans outside of the Emirates are yet to be persuaded by the transfer, having offered “very, very little” against Arne Slot‘s side.

Eze’s lack of impact evident for all to see vs Liverpool

During his limited minutes on the pitch, Eze completed his only two passes, making one recovery, and winning 100 per cent of his ground duels, but it was still seen as a failure.

His last start came against Crystal Palace in the Carabao Cup last month, a game in which he created two chances, attempted three dribbles, won 62 per cent of his ground duels, and won three fouls [FotMob].

Right now, Martin Odegaard is the preferred playmaker in the middle of the park, with supporters yet to see the best of their big-money signing since his move from Selhurst Park.

He instantly won fans over with his delightful hat-trick in the North London derby, but since then, Eze has offered very little, giving Premier League fans an easy way to make fun of the Gunners’ this season.
