Liverpool fans have reacted angrily to Daniel Sturridge’s display against Chelsea.
The striker was given a rare start by Jurgen Klopp, who elected to keep Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino on the bench.
It was a strange line-up that left fans scratching their heads, but Klopp nearly got away with it thanks to the ever-dependable Mohamed Salah, who popped up in the second half to the opening goal of the game.
However, Willian scored a late equaliser to share the spoils in an entertaining game at Anfield.
Sturridge has made nine appearances in the Premier League this season and has only scored two goals, amid rumours that he wants a move in January to try to force his way back into the England squad for the World Cup in the summer.
Liverpool fans have taken to social media to express their disappointment at Sturridge’s performance, with one fan describing the player’s career as being in a “sad decline”.
Here are some of the best Tweets from unhappy Liverpool fans:
Sturridge had to be subbed off. He was utter waste of a spot . God what team will want him in Jan? Just not worth the money anymore…

Sturridge’s career has stalled since picking up a series of injuries.
His best season at Anfield came in 2013-14, when he was paired up-front with Luis Suarez.
The 28-year-old scored 24 goals in 33 appearances for Liverpool as they came agonisingly close to winning the Premier League title.
Those days seem far gone now, as the player looks to be a shadow of the player he was.
