Aaron Ramsdale would take Chelsea to ‘next level’ after source’s reveal but pundit ‘surprised’
Aaron Ramsdale has the ability to take Chelsea to the “next level”.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Tottenham and England goalkeeper Paul Robinson was adamant that the Arsenal shot-stopper would be adored by Blues fans.
As revealed by Football Insider (29 February), Chelsea could move again for Ramsdale, who they see as a good option despite his demotion at the Emirates.
David Raya has emerged as Mikel Arteta’s first-choice in North London despite Ramsdale’s impressive first two seasons with Arsenal.

He has made just 11 appearances in all competitions, including in their 2-1 win against Brentford on Saturday (9 March) in Raya’s absence.
Robinson claimed that neither of Chelsea’s goalkeeper options, Robert Sanchez and Dorde Petrovic, are good enough and was confident Ramsdale could help change the club’s fortunes.
“I’m surprised Ramsdale stayed at Arsenal in January,” he told Football Insider.
“I feel for Ramsdale because he’s an excellent goalkeeper and he’s been treated harshly.
“I don’t think his quality has ever come to question but he’s been left out of the side at a time when he was playing very well.
“Arteta tried to downplay the goalkeeper situation by saying he would rotate between him and Raya, but that has not come to fruition.
“Ramsdale deserves to be playing football and I think he would be a great fit at Chelsea.
“The Chelsea fans would love him there.
“He could play for any of the top sides in the country.
“Neither Sanchez nor Petrovic are good enough to take them to the next level – neither are at the same level as Ramsdale.
“Whoever gets him will have a goalkeeper who is hungry and can prove he is capable of playing for England again.”
