Aaron Ramsey could explode v Frankfurt as early Rangers team news revealed - pundit
Noel Whelan has backed experienced midfielder Aaron Ramsey to “be the difference” for Rangers in their Europa League final against Eintracht Frankfurt.
The former Aberdeen and Leeds striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed the 31-year-old’s wealth of games at the “highest level” could be invaluable to Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s men.
Ramsey has struggled for game time since joining Rangers on loan from Juventus in January but started two of the Ibrox club’s last three Scottish Premiership games in a bid to build fitness for Wednesday’s (18 May) Seville showpiece.
As quoted by Sky Sports (17 May), Van Bronckhorst claimed the Wales midfielder will be “much better for his recent games” after “coming back strong” from a recent injury problem.
The Dutchman also claimed Kemar Roofe is “ready to play his part” in the final.
Whelan backed Ramsey to be a helpful influence in the dressing room as well as on the pitch on Wednesday.

“He’s played in countless games at the highest level,” he told Football Insider‘s Ewan Kingsbury.
“European qualifiers and tournaments, Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup finals – and also that experience on the continent with Juventus.
“In these kinds of pressure games, you vitally need players like Ramsey – because he can handle the situation.
“It won’t be just out on the field where he is proving his worth, either. He’ll be in the dressing room and around the players, calming the nerves in the build-up and talking to them about what to expect.
“That’s exactly why they brought him in. He hasn’t quite set the world on fire at Rangers, but you wouldn’t bet against him turning up at the right time with a goal or a vital contribution.
“He’s capable of being the difference out there.
“You’ve seen it happen so many times for Arsenal or Wales.”
