Aaron Ramsey in line to start for Rangers as 'massive' verdict issued - ex-manager
Alex McLeish has suggested Giovanni van Bronckhorst could bring Kemar Roofe and Aaron Ramsey into the Rangers starting XI against Hearts on Saturday.
The former Gers boss, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insisted he does not expect “massive changes” from Wednesday’s Europa League final defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt.
Both Roofe, 29, and Ramsey, 31, came on with minutes to play in Seville.
The Wales international then saw his penalty saved by Kevin Trapp during the Gers’ shoot-out defeat.
However, McLeish suggested Ramsey could be in line to start at Hampden park after such a demanding game for the other players on Wednesday.
Asked if Van Bronckhorst has to make changes after their gruelling clash in Seville, McLeish told Football Insider’s Russell Edge: “No. I think he’ll put out the strongest team possible. Those guys have got to go again.

“That’s what makes you at that level. They’ve overcome the extra time thing, they proved that by beating Celtic in the cup semi-final after a heavy game in Europe.
He may make a change or two, Roofe could come in for Wright, something like that. There could be some tactical tweaks. Maybe with the minutes Ramsey got on Wednesday night, that could be another tweak Gio will make for Saturday.
“But by and large it will be the players that performed the other night, I would think. I don’t think there’ll be massive changes because it would give him a headache to think beyond the game. If it doesn’t work right he’ll never forgive himself.”
Ramsey has played 13 times across all competitions for Rangers so far.
He has started the last three Scottish Cup ties for the Gers.
