Aaron Ramsey: ‘It doesn’t look good’ for Rangers star after confirmed news – pundit
Aaron Ramsey’s injury record will always be “a worry” and “a problem” for Rangers, according to Kevin Campbell.
The former Arsenal and Everton striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed the 31-year-old’s latest issue “doesn’t look good.”
As confirmed by Rangers (21 February), Ramsey missed a bounce match against Brentford at Auchenhowie on Monday.
It comes after the centre-midfielder missed Sunday’s 1-1 draw at Dundee United.
An update from club media (20 February) revealed “a minor knock” caused Ramsey to miss out on the trip to Tannadice Park.
The Wales international has been blighted by injury in recent seasons.
Such problems have limited him to just nine club appearances so far this season.
When asked by Football Insider for his assessment of Ramsey’s recent absence, Campbell said: “His injury record is always a worry, a problem.
“That was the gamble for Rangers. When a player starts to get into his 30s it takes them longer to recover. It doesn’t look good for Ramsey.
“It is only a loan until the end of the season though so Rangers haven’t invested loads of money.
“It’s important to remember injuries can happen to anyone though. It just feels doubly difficult when it’s a player of Ramsey’s quality and history of injuries.”
The Gers signed Ramsey from Juventus on deadline day on loan for the remainder of the season.
The Scottish Premiership champions have an option to buy the midfielder.
