Aaron Ramsey: Rangers new boy tipped to join Premier League club after update in last 48 hours – pundit

Danny Mills has tipped Aaron Ramsey to join a Premier League club when his loan at Rangers expires at the end of the season.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Premier League and England right-back suggested Ramsey was using Rangers as a stepping stone where he can regain match fitness and sharpness.

The Wales international completed a deadline day (31 January) loan move to Ibrox from Juventus.

Fabrizio Romano reported on Friday (4 February) that the Gers have priority if they and the player want to make the deal permanent.

The midfielder is out of contract at Juventus at the end of the season.

“He’s maybe looked at it and thought to go straight into a Premier League side and he knows what the Premier League is all about, was probably going to be really difficult because of the lack of game time,” Mills told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.

“It would have been really hard to get up to speed quick enough. There’s more of an opportunity to make an impact at Rangers, away from the spotlight.

“He can go in there, regain some fitness and have some good performances at what is a slightly lower level.

“Then he can look to get a Premier League move in the summer. It’s a strategic move, I would say.

“If he does well, there will be Premier League suitors out there looking at him.

“He will see it as a strategic move to get back playing football regularly and get 90 minutes in week in, week out and put in a string of good performances.

“All of a sudden, he will have more suitors in the summer.”
