'Absolutely perfect fit' - Exclusive: Robinson stunned that Everton are overlooking PL manager

Paul Robinson revealed he was stunned that Everton weren’t considering Burnley manager Sean Dyche to be their next manager.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Laura O’Leary, the former England goalkeeper shared that he thought Dyche would be perfect for the Toffees job.

The 48-year-old has been the manager of Burnley since 2012 and has been in charge of over 168 Premier League games so far as Clarets boss.

Robinson admitted he didn’t want to talk Dyche out of a job but pointed out the work he had done at Burnley shows why he’d be great for the Toffees.

“You know who would be perfect for the Everton job? Sean Dyche,” Robinson told Football Insider.

“Absolutely perfect fit, he’s someone who can develop players, get the best out of players and put pride back in the shirt.

“I don’t want to talk him out of a job, but there would be no better manager for Everton than Sean Dyche.

“He’ll put confidence in the players, he can develop the football club as a whole, look what he has done for Burnley and the community, I think he’d be a perfect fit and I cannot believe he has been overlooked for it.”

Dyche has won 48 of the 168 Premier League matches he has overseen and notably guided Burnley to a seventh-placed finish in the 2017/18 campaign, which saw them qualify for the Europa League.

The Toffees are on the hunt for a new manager following the sacking of Marco Silva after just 18 months in the job.

In other Everton news, Noel Whelan claims a senior Toffees player will be ‘Desperate’ for 48-year-old to be named the club’s new manager.
