Achraf Hakimi reacts excitedly to Adam Aznou’s message as Everton switch confirmed
PSG star Achraf Hakimi has sent an enthusiastic message to new Everton man Adam Aznou after his arrival on Merseyside was announced.
Everton enjoyed a revival under David Moyes in the second-half of last season, and they eventually finished 13th in the Premier League as they bid farewell to Goodison Park on a high.
This summer will represent the first transfer window with The Friedkin Group at the helm for Everton, following their December takeover, and former club chief Keith Wyness recently told Football Insider that the Toffees could bring in as many as five new players in the coming weeks.

The Athletic reported on Tuesday, 22 July, that Everton were interested in Bayern Munich youngster Aznou, with Moyes looking to sign left-back cover this summer, and a new report from The Athletic on Saturday, 26 July, stated that the Toffees had “made progress” over a deal for the 19-year-old.
Moyes has now got his man as he continues his squad overhaul this summer, and Aznou will hope to draw on inspiration from one of the best full-backs in world football following Hakimi’s message of support.
Aznou sends message to Evertonians after signing
Everton announced Aznou’s capture on their Instagram page on Tuesday (29 July), saying: “We have completed the transfer of left-back Adam Aznou from Bayern Munich for an undisclosed fee. Welcome to Everton, Adam!”
The Moroccan international has joined the club for a fee in the region of £7.8million [Liverpool Echo], and he also took to the social media site to share his reaction to the move, captioning a post of him signing a contract for the Toffees with: “I’m very happy to sign for (Everton), I’m really looking forward to getting started and giving my all for this club! Up the toffees!!” alongside three blue heart emojis.
Aznou’s post was reacted to by PSG star and international teammate Hakimi, who replied with an animated message that read: “Enhorabuena (Congratulations), let’s gooooo!!” with a blue heart emoji.
Everton needed left-back cover after Ashley Young’s exit
Football Insider verdict
Moyes was able to shore up the Toffees’ leaky defence following his re-appointment last season, but he has still moved to make wholesale changes to his backline this summer with the squad in clear need of a refresh.
Veteran left-back Young departed Everton at the end of his contract last month, which leaves Ukraine international Vitalii Mykolenko as the club’s only senior left-back right now.
Mykolenko has impressed at times throughout his Toffees career, but has also struggled on occasion with the physicality of the Premier League, and Moyes has obviously been keen to add competition in that position ahead of the new campaign.

Aznou is a relatively unknown quantity in English football at just 19-years-old, but he did make four senior appearances for Bayern, and has further first-team experience after spending the second half of last season on loan at Real Valladolid.
He is set to be seen as a more attacking option from left-back, according to The Athletic, and Everton supporters will be pleased that the club has addressed a problem area, with plenty more new faces seemingly set to arrive before the window closes.
