Adam Wharton reacts to ‘next chapter’ announcement at Crystal Palace
Adam Wharton reacted to an announcement from Crystal Palace amid uncertainty surrounding the midfielder’s future.
Despite having only made the move to Selhurst Park in February 2024, the England international’s days with the South London side seem numbered.
Wharton is regarded as one of the best up-and-coming young talents in the Premier League, and the 21-year-old has made 43 appearances for Palace since joining from Blackburn Rovers.
The young midfielder has become a key part of Oliver Glasner‘s side, although surgery on a groin injury kept him out for over three months last term.
However, that has not stopped teams like Tottenham from showing interest in Wharton, although Pete O’Rourke told Football Insider exclusively that the Eagles will demand £100million for the youngster.

Crystal Palace go gold after FA Cup triumph
Following their 1-0 victory over Man City in the FA Cup final, courtesy of a goal from Arsenal target Eberechi Eze, Palace announced their new away kit for the 2025/26 season.
After sporting yellow last term, the South London club will wear a golden kit, commemorating the club’s first major trophy and the Eagles shared a message on Instagram, saying: “History was made. The next chapter is now.”
The post was liked by Wharton, who was involved in the launch of the new jersey.
Crystal Palace facing summer of struggles
Football Insider Verdict
Whilst an asking price of £100m may be enough to ward suitors off in the short term, it seems inevitable that Wharton will leave Selhurst Park.
However, the bad news is not just limited to the England international’s future, or lack thereof, with the club.
Having been booted out of the Europa League, Palace have taken their appeal to the Court of Sports Arbitration (CAS).
But things are looking grim for the Eagles, as despite their protestations, all the evidence seems to point towards them having broken the rules.
What’s more, Drogheda and Club Leon’s similar appeals were dismissed by CAS earlier in the summer, making it extremely unlikely they will yield for the Premier League club.
