Adam Wharton shares new Crystal Palace message amid Liverpool transfer news

Adam Wharton has been heavily linked with a move away from Crystal Palace this summer amid growing interest from the likes of Liverpool and Tottenham.

The 21-year-old enjoyed a successful season with Palace after returning from a long-term groin injury in February, and is on the radar of a number of elite clubs.

Former Man United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider in April that Liverpool want to sign Wharton as he ticks a lot of boxes for Arne Slot.

However, Palace will demand “huge” money for Wharton as they are very reluctant to lose the midfielder who was signed for £22million just 18 months ago.

Football Insider on 19 July that Crystal Palace will demand £100million for Wharton amid fears that they could lose a number of key players.

Alongside Wharton, Brown told Football Insider that Crystal Palace plan to keep their best players amid interest in Eberechi Eze and Jean-Philippe Mateta.

As things stand, the trio remain crucial parts of Oliver Glasner’s first-team squad after contributing to Palace’s historic FA Cup triumph last season.

All three have returned to pre-season training at Copers Cope, and have also taken part in the club’s latest kit launch which emerged on social media today.

Taking to Instagram, Wharton shared an image alongside Mateta and Marc Guehi, who has also been linked with a move to Liverpool this summer.

Odsonne Edouard to leave Selhurst Park after Glasner decision

Alongside Palace’s efforts to keep a number of their best players at the club, they are prepared to move on without some of the squad’s fringe players.

Football Insider revealed on 21 July that Crystal Palace will accept offers for Odsonne Edouard this summer as he is no longer a part of Glasner’s plans.

With just one year remaining on his current contract, there is a belief that this is Palace’s last chance to raise funds from his sale as they attempt to drum up interest.

However, Football Insider revealed on 20 July that Celtic are unlikely to re-sign Edouard despite being linked with the move after Brendan Rodgers cooled the speculation.
