Agbonlahor: Everton backed to accept Tottenham bid for Anthony Gordon after latest update

Everton would sell Anthony Gordon if they receive a “decent” offer from Tottenham, according to Gabby Agbonlahor.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England attacker suggested Gordon’s performances have dipped after he was linked with a “big money” move in the summer.

Newcastle United, Spurs and Chelsea were all credited with an interest in the 21-year-old during the summer window.

Everton valued their academy product at £60million but he dropped to the bench for their final two Premier League games before the World Cup break.

Football.London reported on Sunday (20 November) that Tottenham are still monitoring Gordon ahead of the January transfer window

“If Spurs are interested in Anthony Gordon I would definitely sell him,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.

“I feel like he hasn’t done anything really since he got linked with a move to Chelsea.

“Lampard’s been playing him from the bench in the last few games. That’s strange with the quality that he’s got.

“He’s not been putting in the performances. Did the big-money transfer links get to his head? There are questions to be asked there.

“He needs to sort himself out because clubs might be interested but they might not if they see your performances can drop so easily.

“I think if Everton can get a decent amount, they would sell him.”

Gordon has scored three of Everton’s 11 Premier League goals this season in 11 top-flight starts.

The England Under-21 international is out of contract at Goodison Park in the summer of 2025.
