Gabby Agbonlahor expects Jack Grealish to be thrown straight back into the Aston Villa starting XI against Fulham on Sunday.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, Villa’s record Premier League goalscorer delivered his verdict after Grealish was pictured back in full training at Bodymoor Heath.

The England international has not featured for Dean Smith’s side since their 0-0 draw with Brighton & Hove Albion in February.

Aston Villa have struggled in his absence as they recorded just one win and scored three goals in the six games he missed.

Asked what it means for the squad to have their captain back in full training, Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “It’s massive.

“It’s good to see that he would have had a good week training.

“I think every Villa fan out there is just relieved really. After recent performances, everyone will be relieved.

“It’s the sort of game that would be perfect for him. Fulham are going to be playing attacking football because they will be looking to get three points to stay up. It’s going to leave a lot of space for Villa on the counter-attack.

“I think it’s going to be a really good game and a good game for him to come straight back into. I think he’ll be straight back in that starting line up.

“I don’t think he’ll be eased back in. There are only 10 games left so I think he’ll be starting.”

Villa are still in the hunt for an unlikely top-six finish despite their form faltering prior to the international break.

They are seven points behind sixth-place Tottenham but have a game in hand over the majority of the sides above them.
