Agbonlahor: Hause will be at Aston Villa for a 'very long time' after journalist's reveal
Gabby Agbonlahor has told Aston Villa to tie Kortney Hause to a new long-term contract.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, Villa’s record Premier League goalscorer insisted Hause is the “perfect” third-choice centre-back.
The 26-year-old has just 12 months left to run on his current contract.
Birmingham Live‘s Ashley Preece reported on 30 July the Midlands giants are set to offer him fresh terms.
Hause featured in seven Premier League games last term with Ezri Konsa and Tyrone Mings firmly established as Dean Smith’s first-choice centre-back pairing.
Villa kept a joint club-record 15 clean sheets in the Premier League last term with Emiliano Martinez between the sticks.

Asked whether Hause deserved a new deal, Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “He pushed [Bjorn] Engels out of the race for the third-choice centre-half.
“He’s just the perfect third-choice centre-half. Konsa and Mings will always play no matter what. they’re the best two out of the three.
“Kortney Hause is the perfect replacement. If Mings or Konsa are injured you’re not worried and thinking ‘Ooh, is he good enough?’ It’s just an easy one, straight in. He’s Mr Reliable.
“Aston Villa will keep hold of him for a very long time because of what he can offer.
“They should get that deal done and get it over the line.”
Hause moved to Aston Villa for Midlands rivals Wolverhampton Wanderers in January 2019, initially on loan.
The former England Under-21 international has now played 46 times for Villa and has scored three times.
