Agbonlahor issues '100%' verdict after David Moyes sack reveal at West Ham

David Moyes “100 per cent” deserves more time as West Ham manager, according to Gabby Agbonlahor.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England attacker claimed Moyes should not be sacked even if West Ham finish in the bottom half of the table this season.

The Hammers have won just one of their last five Premier League games and are down in 15th after their 2-1 defeat to Crystal Palace on Sunday (6 November).

Fans showed their frustration at the end of the game and have also begun to boo some of his substitutions.

The Athletic reported on Monday (7 November) that the club’s board have no desire to replace the 59-year-old who is under contract until 2024.

“I think he’s got a lot of credit in the bank,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.

“But the owners will think that they spent a lot of money in the summer, they got Gianluca Scamacca in, they got Lucas Paqueta in and other players in so they will need to see results.

“West Ham fans have been treated to European football two years in a row, I don’t think there’s any chance of them having European football next season. They look a million miles off the top seven teams.

“The pressure will be on.

“But there are other teams over the years who have spent decent money over the years and haven’t got into the European competitions.

“Even if West Ham finish 12th or 13th this season, Moyes has got credit in the bank.

“There’s no point sacking him, 100 per cent, he needs time. He’s earned that time, he’s done a great job as West Ham manager.

“They are just going through a sticky patch.”

In other news, Scamacca should be getting a ban as a West Ham controversy is missed by the BBC cameras.
