Agbonlahor issues ‘toxic’ Aston Villa claim after source’s Steven Gerrard sack reveal
Steven Gerrard is set for a “toxic” atmosphere when Aston Villa welcome Chelsea to Villa Park on Sunday (16 October), according to Gabby Agbonlahor.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, Aston Villa’s record Premier League goalscorer admitted he cannot see where they get their next win from ahead of the World Cup.
Sources told Football Insider on Thursday (13 October) that Aston Villa’s owners are weighing up whether to sack Gerrard over the coming weeks after being increasingly concerned by the team’s results and performances.

Naseef Sawiris and Wes Edens are unimpressed by the lack of progress on the pitch despite the heavy investment in the squad.
“There’s no team worse than Chelsea to be playing next,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley
“Villa Park will be toxic if Villa concede first on Sunday. These players better get prepared for some atmosphere on Sunday because the fans are fed up with these lacklustre performances.
“This was the season we were supposed to start pushing for Europe and it’s looking more like a relegation battle at the moment.
“Villa are playing a lot of teams they should be getting three points out of. Apart from Man City, they’ve not really played many teams that are tough teams.
“You can say there are some winnable games before the World Cup but we struggle with Brentford at home, Fulham away is not going to be easy, they are bang at it at home.
“I don’t think there are any games out of the next six that I back us to win.
“We have played poor teams and not put them away, it’s tough to see where Villa’s next win comes from.
“It’s just a shame because I love Steven Gerrard but when these Villa fans turn it’s very hard to get them back on side.
“I look at these six games and I don’t see Aston Villa getting enough points to push up the table.
“Chelsea is going to be a tough, tough game. I don’t enjoy watching Villa anymore and I won’t go watch them play.

“I got offered to go to Villa Park this Sunday and I won’t go because it’s not entertaining football, we don’t look like we’re going to beat times.
“It’s a shame because I want to go see my team play but I wouldn’t waste two hours watching them now.”
In other news, Aston Villa have a “Callum Wilson in their ranks” as an “amazing” claim is issued.
