Agbonlahor: Konsa should be fuming with official news after 'outstanding' Aston Villa form
Ezri Konsa can “definitely feel hard done by” after he was overlooked by England despite his “outstanding” Aston Villa form.
That is the view of Villa’s record Premier League goalscorer, speaking exclusively to Football Insider after Gareth Southgate once again snubbed Konsa.
Instead, the England boss cllaed up Fikayo Tomori of AC Milan to replace the injured Harry Maguire while Tyrone Mings, Conor Coady and John Stones retained their places in the squad.
As quoted by the Express & Star, Dean Smith revealed Konsa may consider switching allegiance to Portugal.
But Agbonlahor is hoping it will not come to that and the 23-year-old is rewarded by his country of birth.
He told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “Konsa can definitely feel hard done by.

“His performances over the last year and a half have been outstanding. There has been a chance to put him into this squad with Harry Maguire injured. I’m sure he was expecting a call-up.
“Hopefully, as an England fan, he gives it one more international break and if he doesn’t get called up I wouldn’t blame him for maybe choosing Portugal. You look at Portugal and he would be perfect to play alongside Dias at the back.
“I’m sure he’s got aspirations of playing international football because it’s a different area to showcase your talents.
“He’s just got to keep his head down and work hard. He came from the Championship with Brentford and maybe Southgate wants to see another season of him in the Premier League before he calls him.
“He’ll get his chance hopefully if he continues to play well.”
