Agbonlahor lambasts Chelsea as ’embarrassing’ Joao Felix details emerge – ‘they’ve got issues’
Gabby Agbonlahor has claimed Joao Felix is not the answer to the problems at Chelsea and could be “bullied” in the Premier League.
The former Aston Villa striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, suggested the 23-year-old is a “panic signing” and insisted the Blues have “issues” with recruitment.
Chelsea announced the signing of Felix on Wednesday (11 January) – with the Atletico Madrid star signing on loan for the rest of the season.
According to Sky Sports (11 January), the Blues will pay a £9.69million loan fee to Atleti – as well as cover the entirety of the forward’s wages.
As per FBRef, Felix earns a weekly wage of almost £250,000.
The Portugal star has started just 11 games across all competitions for Atletico Madrid this season, registering five goals and three assists.
Chelsea sit 10th in the Premier League after winning just one of their last eight top-flight games – heaping pressure on manager Graham Potter.
When asked if Felix could be the answer to the Blues’ problems, Agbonlahor told Football Insider’s Ewan Kingsbury: “I don’t think so.
“Chelsea have got issues, and it’s getting embarrassing. Arsenal say they want Mudryk, then Chelsea bid for him.
“Man United are in for Felix, and now Chelsea have got him. It’s like they’re playing Football Manager.

“It’s a panic signing, and they’re in a weird place at the moment.
“Watching him, I think he’ll get bullied in the Premier League.”
