Gabby Agbonlahor has hit back after Kris Boyd claimed Leeds United should be further up the Premier League table given the money they have spent.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-England and Aston Villa insisted the Whites have had a “great season” and backed them to finish above Arsenal.
Boyd told Sky Sports at the weekend: “When you take into consideration what Leeds are spending I think maybe can be doing even better.”
🗣"I might upset a few here, I think there is a lot of overhype, all we hear is Bielsa is a master tactician, Chris Wilder did the same last season, with what they are spending they could do better."

The Yorkshire giants added Rodrigo Moreno, Robin Koch, Diego Llorente and Raphinha in the summer while Illan Meslier’s and Helder Costa’s loans became permanent deals.
Of the new additions, only Raphinha has been a mainstay in Marcelo Bielsa’s side with the other three all struggling with injuries at various points.
Asked if he agreed with Boyd’s assessment of Leeds United, Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “No, not at all.
“Fulham spent £100million, a couple of years ago and went down. Leeds have spent money but for the money they’ve spent their position in the league is a good place to be.
“I think they’ll finish the season strongly and it wouldn’t surprise me if they finish above Arsenal.
“It’s been a great season and I feel like with Leeds you can’t say they should be higher for what they’ve spent. I disagree with that.”
Leeds’ fantastic 2-1 win over Manchester City on Saturday lifted them to 10th in the table level on points with Arsenal but a worse goal difference.
They have seven games left to play including fixtures against Liverpool, Manchester United and Tottenham within their next four.
