Agbonlahor: Leeds told to make Rodrigo U-turn after confirmed news
Leeds United should give Rodrigo Moreno a new contract, according to Gabby Agbonlahor.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England attacker claimed Rodrigo is “unplayable” when on form and has done enough to earn a new deal.
The 31-year-old has been Leeds’ standout player this term and has scored almost half of their Premier League goals after finding the net nine times in 13 appearances before the break.
He is now set to enter the final 18 months of his contract at Elland Road after singing a four-year deal when he signed from Valencia for £30million in the summer of 2020.
As quoted by Leeds Live earlier this week (5 December), the forward confirmed there had been no negotiations over a new contract.
Rodrigo insisted there was “no rush” to address his future as he was just taking each game as it comes.
Asked for his verdict on the Spain international’s future, Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “I would give him a new contract definitely.
“He’s one of those players that, on his day, can be unplayable. He’s got great movement, he’s a great finisher and aggressive.
“He’s one that I think they should keep, definitely.”

Rodrigo now has 22 goals and a further four assists in 76 appearances across all competitions for Leeds.
The club record signing initially played behind Bamford but has enjoyed a more advanced role this season and has started to find the back of the net more regularly as a result.
In other news, Leeds United are plotting a move to re-sign a £100,000-a-week star in January.
