Agbonlahor: Liverpool may have to pay '£200m' for Jude Bellingham after source's new update

Liverpool may have to pay “£200million” for Jude Bellingham if he continues to have a good World Cup, according to Gabby Agbonlahor.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England attacker suggested Borussia Dortmund will demand a world-record fee for Bellingham if he shines on the biggest stage.

The 19-year-old scored his first England goal as they beat Iran 6-2 in their opening group game of the tournament on Monday (21 November).

The midfielder is out of contract at Dortmund in the summer of 2025 and there is an expectation he could leave the club next year.

Sources told Football Insider last week (17 November) that Liverpool are in pole position to sign Bellingham as they are willing to commit huge funds to a deal.

A January swoop is even possible as the club have been busy forming key relationships behind the scenes and the player’s father, Mark Bellingham, believes a move to Anfield would be an ideal fit.

“With the way Jude Bellingham played against Iran, he’s gone up by £30million or £40million easily,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.

“If he continues to play this way and Liverpool are talking £100million, you will actually be talking £200million.

“I feel Borussia Dortmund will be rubbing their hands together and thinking ‘We’re probably going to get the biggest transfer fee ever for Jude Bellingham’.

“He’s a star, he’s young, he’s aggressive, he can get in the box and score goals and he’s got legs. He’s a superstar.”

Bellingham has now played 18 times for England.

His goal against Iran makes him his country’s second youngest-ever goalscorer at the tournament behind Michael Owen.
