Agbonlahor: Man United told to scrap Jordan Pickford signing plan as ‘perfect replacement’ already found
Gabby Agbonlahor has claimed Dean Henderson could be the “perfect replacement” for David de Gea at Man United despite links to Jordan Pickford.
The former Aston Villa striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, suggested the 25-year-old is “very similar” to Pickford.
According to The Telegraph (24 September), Man United are weighing up whether to trigger De Gea’s one-year contract option with his current deal set to expire at the end of the season.

The report claims a move for Everton and England shot-stopper Pickford could “enter the frame” if the Spaniard departs Old Trafford.
Nottingham Forest loanee Henderson has previously been outspoken about his “criminal” treatment at Man United, claiming he “wasted” a season after being told he was the first-choice keeper for the 2021-22 campaign.
Agbonlahor insisted he is “sure” player and club can repair their relationship in time for next season.
He suggested Man United would be priced out of a move for Pickford regardless.
He told Football Insider’s Connor Whitley: “I think if Everton are going to sell him, he’d be very expensive.
“But I just don’t see a lot of difference between Pickford and Henderson.
“Yes, Pickford is probably better with his feet but they’re very similar in terms of shot stopping.
“I just don’t think it makes sense for United to have another goalkeeper on their books.
“I know Henderson spoke out against the club, but I’m sure they can resolve that.

“I just don’t see Man United going out and spending big money on Pickford when they’ve got Henderson.
“He’s the perfect replacement for De Gea.”
