Steve Bruce’s hopes of keeping Newcastle United have been handed a major boost as Callum Wilson looks set to return from injury at the weekend.
That is the view of former Aston Villa and England striker Gabby Agbonlahor, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the Magpies’ relegation fears after an update on Wilson.
This site revealed last Wednesday (24th March) that the Magpies were hopeful of the England international featuring against Tottenham on Sunday after an almost two-month lay-off.

Wilson took to Twitter this week claiming he “can’t wait to get back out there” hinting at a St. James’ Park return this weekend.
The 29-year-old is the Magpies’ top Premier League goalscorer this season with 10 strikes in 21 starts.
Bruce will be desperate to get his star striker back as his side hover just two points above the relegation zone.
“If they can get Miguel Almiron, Allan Saint-Maximin and Wilson back fit and firing they’ve got every chance of staying up because they’re three quality players,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.
“I’m sure that’s what Steve Bruce will be hoping for – to get them back fit. They’ll have every chance of upsetting a lot of teams.
“They’re really quality players who can score goals.”
Saint-Maximin and Almiron were both ruled out until mid-April in a double blow in March but Almiron returned against Brighton & Hove Albion before the international break.
The trio have contributed 16 of Newcastle’s 28 league goals this term.
